Kenneth John Girard

Kenneth John Girard, born June 15, 1960, passed away on December 2, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving parents, Anna and Dennis Girard; his sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Lee Fenton; and nieces, Kelsey and Stephanie, who were the joy of his life.
Ken was passionate about plants and gardening. He was employed as the Biological Sciences Greenhouse Manager at the University of Calgary for the past twenty years. Ken was president of the Canadian Orchid Society at age seventeen, past President of the Foothills Orchid Society and past President of the Calgary Horticultural Society. He was accredited American Orchid Society Judge, a well-known educator, lecturer, writer and radio personality.
Ken will be missed by all who knew him. His family is very grateful for the kindness and support of his many relatives and friends.
