1917 - 2006

Jock Noble, beloved husband of Mina Noble of Okotoks, passed away peacefully at Claresholm Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre on December 1, 2006 at the age of 89. He is survived by his children, Linda (Herb) Doll, Wetaskiwin, Carol Rogers (Rick Fulowski) Okotoks, John (Ronda) Noble, Bow Island and Isabelle (John) Berns, Claresholm. Jock is also survived by eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Margurite Noble; his twin brother Stewart Noble; his wife Barbara; nephew Ken Noble; son-in-law and grand-daughter Ralph and Heather Rasmuson.

Jock was born at Aldersyde, Alberta. He grew up in the area attending Cameron Coulee and Okotoks Schools and then continued his education at the Olds College. Upon graduation, he returned to the Okotoks area to ranch. In 1942 he joined the Canadian Army and then transferred to the R.C.A.F. where he trained as a navigator. In 1946 he married Mina McEathron and shortly thereafter they purchased Rainbow Ranch on Tongue Creek, raising purebred Herefords. A life long dream was attained with the top selling bull at the Best by Test sale at Innisfail in 1980.

Jock was active in Masonic Lodge, United Church, 4-H, Air Cadets and Alberta and Canadian Herford Associations. Jock was always there to lend a helping hand. His interest in the Hereford breed enticed him to become Secretary/Treasurer for the AB Hereford Association. Jock and Mina traveled to Russia and Argentina as Hereford ambassadors. As a Canadian Hereford Digest Fieldman, Jock was often seen in the bull ring catching bids or socializing out in the barns. In 1989 Jock bounced back from open heart surgery to become a successful a Realtor, retiring at the age of eighty-two.

Keeping with Jock’s tradition of unselfishness and his concern for humanity, Jock chose to donate his body to U of C for medical study.
