Constance "Connie" Eva (Shepard) Lecerf passed away at the Rocky Hospital on November 14, 2006 at the age of 73 after a lengthy illness.
Connie was born August 19, 1933 to Roberts and Laura Shepherd and raised on a dairy farm south of Erskine, Alberta. In her teens, Connie raised and showed purebred Holstein cattle. She attended 0lds Agriculture College, After her schooling she worked as a teacher's aide at Lyncott School. On December 9, 1953, she and Ron Lecerf were married at Stettler. They lived in the oil patch wherever Ron worked until the boys were starting school when they settled in Rocky Mountain House where she lived until her passing.
Connie was active in the community: St. Matthew's Catholic Church, CWL, Separate School Board, COPE, Rocky Day, Adult Literacy, Friends of National Historic Park and David Thompson Days. She worked as a Teacher's Aide at the Separate School and also was a casual desk clerk at the Voyageur Motel.
Connie leaves to mourn her two sons. Robert (Rhoda) and his two sons Nathan (Rhonda), Mac (Stacey) and Michael (Wendy) his daughter Danielle (Doug Walton. Shawn's daughter Shawna, three great grandsons: Zachary, Kade and Luke, her brother Kenny (Barb), and two sisters-in-law, Hilda and Louise. She also leaves Tina (Shawna's mother) as well as several step- grandchildren and many close relatives and friends. Connie was predeceased by her parents, two brothers John and David, one infant brother and her son Shawn.
A Funeral Mass was held for the late Connie Lecerf on November 20, 2006 at the St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church with main celebrant Father Don Stein and concelebrant Father Paul Payyapilly. Inurnment was at the Evergreen Cemetery.
