Opportunities for Students on the Olds College Farm
Our beef enterprises utilize student participation in the cow/calf and feedlot sectors as well as a multi-breed Steer-a-Year showcase. Our sheep flock allows students many practical opportunities to gain animal husbandry experience with this species. The various equine programs use college-owned and client-owned horses of various ages for the many equine disciplines offered here.
Research and Demonstration Projects on the Olds College Farm
The farm is a site for many innovative and practical research projects involving industry partners and private or public researchers. Our large 2,060 acre land base allows exposure to various crops, pastures, hay crops, research projects and demonstration plots.
