Commercialization of Net Feed Efficiency in Beef Cattle 
The cost of feed ranks second only to fixed costs in importance when looking at the profitability of commercial beef operations. From October 2002 to February 2005, under the direction of Dr. John Basarab, Olds College has played a pivotal role in the development of the first North American EPD’s (expected progeny difference) for net feed efficiency in beef cattle.
