Canadian Equine Centre for Innovation (CECI)
Equine Excellence
The CECI will be a national centre for innovation incorporating leading-edge expertise, facilities, technology and applied research to provide unique solutions to enhance human resource development in the equine industry.
CECI will be a multi-campus facility:
CECI Olds
- Development of new equine facilities
- Expansion of existing Equine Science Program at CECI Olds, located at the Olds College Campus
CECI Balzac
- Creation of a satellite campus near Balzac, Alberta
- Developed in conjunction with the Calgary Race Track and Racing Entertainment
Centre to be constructed by the United Horsemen
of Alberta and
Ivanhoe Cambridge
- Focused initially on Race Track programming relating to the mandate of Horse Racing Alberta

Timeline
Canadian Equine Centre of Innovation for the Olds area is projected to commence in the Summer of 2007. New programming to commence in September 2009.
