
English Language Learner (ELL) Admissions
ELL Admission Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years old, OR
- If you are under 18 and you have completed high school, you must have a legal custodian in Olds. Contact Canada Immigration for details. We will not process your application until we have received the proper custodian documents and original high school transcripts.
- All new students must write a placement test before they can be assigned to a program level.
How to Apply
- Complete the application form.
- Include full payment. You will receive a letter of acceptance only after payment is received.

Olds College will accept applications after the deadline, but you may not receive your student visa in time. Please arrive before classes begin so you can become oriented to the town and Olds College.
Visa Requirements
If you are planning to study for over six months, you will need student authorization. You can study ELL for approximately three months with a visitors visa.
We do not recommend coming to Canada on a visitors’ visa if you are planning to stay longer than three months. Please contact the nearest Immigration Canada office for current information. Olds College takes no responsibility for immigration matters.
You will receive an acceptance letter which will allow you to apply for a student visa. The acceptance letter will show how many terms you have paid for.
