Calculating Drive Space Usage
You can use a program called Treesize to calculate total drive space usage, individual folders sizes and subfolders. This tool will allow you to delete any of the folderrs that have zero space usage.
For Staff:
- Click on Start menu
- Click on Run
- Type \\olfsrv\sdata\apps\TreeSize\TreeSize.exe
- Click OK
- Click on File
- Click on Open
- Browse to the network drive you want to check
- The below image should appear:
- At the top of the list is the total file space being used for that drive
- Red bars indicate very high space usage
- Yellow bars indicate high space usage
- Green bars indicate
- Clear bars indicate low space usage
Use this tool to help you decide which folders and subfolders to look in for deleting files or can be archived that would save you the most space. Note, that any file that has My in front of it is used by the system. Other folders to be careful when deleting are System, username's Documents, favorites.
- Right Click on a folder you want to have a closer look at
- Click on Explore to open a new Windows Explorer with that folder open.
- From here you can open specific files to see if they can be deleted or needed to archived.

- Double Click “Display H Drive Used Space”
- Click on File
- Click on Open
- Browse to the network drive you want to check
