Calculating Drive Space Usage

You can use a program called Treesize to calculate total drive space usage, individual folders sizes and subfolders. This tool will allow you to delete any of the folderrs that have zero space usage.

For Staff:

  1. Click on Start menu
  2. Click on Run
  3. Type \\olfsrv\sdata\apps\TreeSize\TreeSize.exe
  4. Click OK
  5. Click on File
  6. Click on Open
  7. Browse to the network drive you want to check
  8. The below image should appear:

Use this tool to help you decide which folders and subfolders to look in for deleting files or can be archived that would save you the most space. Note, that any file that has My in front of it is used by the system. Other folders to be careful when deleting are System, username's Documents, favorites.

  3. Lab Resourses
  4. Double Click “Display H Drive Used Space”
  5. Click on File
  6. Click on Open
  7. Browse to the network drive you want to check
