Facilitating Learning (ISWS 510) is a very practical workshop designed to provide direction and feedback to your instruction in order to increase the success of your learners. The workshop introduces the participant to the conditions of learning, to the events of instruction, and to the variety of learning situations. Participants prepare and present three lessons and give feedback to others on their presentations.
Developing and Integrating Courseware (ISWS 520) is designed to assist the learning facilitator in developing learning resources appropriate for a selected course or workshop. This workshop introduces the participant to the processes of needs assessment, occupational analysis, competency profiling, and task analysis, production of learning resources, and strategies in integrating the resources into learning. Participants complete a competency profile and task analysis related to industry training needs.
Assessing Learning Outcomes (ISWS 530) is designed to assist a practicing or prospective instructor to assess the learning outcomes for the learner. The workshop introduces the participant to the purposes of assessing learning, to the types of learning assessment, and to the instruments for assessing learning of psychomotor, affective and cognitive skills. Participants develop assessment tools related to learning outcomes.
Facilitating Enhanced Learning (ISWS 540) is an extension of ISWS 510 Facilitating Learning, providing additional instructional strategies for working with groups of learners. Technology to enhance the learning process will be integrated into the presentation of instruction. **NEW DIRECTION** Additional strategies for working with groups of learners. Participants will present an integrated lesson enhanced with technology. Participants present an integrated lesson enhanced with PowerPoint technology. Strategies for working with groups of learners will be discussed for integration into instructional plans.
