Keyword Searches

If you are not sure of the author, title or subject heading you need, leave the default “Any field” option on and type your topic in the search box.

A search will be conducted for the words you typed, in every area of the item records, i.e. the title, author, subject, and notes.  This option can produce a large number of results, so avoid using common words like “plant” as a single keyword term.

By toggling “Starting with” an alphabetical list will be produced with the closest hits the catalogue can find to the word you typed first in the search box.  Choosing one from the list which appears will then bring up a list of all items with that word in its record.

Next click the “Search” button.
