
PIN: Personal Identification Number for students
To reset passwords, you will need your student ID Card. No Exceptions.
While at Olds College you will be required to keep track of a number of computer user id's and passwords (PINs). Different user id's and passwords give you access to different programs or networks.
Computer Access
To sign on to a student computer:
- Username: You will need all 9 digits of your student number
(located under your picture on your student ID card). - Password: The first time you login, your password is set to your birthday in this format MMDDYY After you have successfully logged on for the first time you will be prompted to change your password. It needs to be at least 6 characters long.
If your computer account is disabled, ask Library staff to reset your password. You will need your student ID card.
Student Services Web Access
To sign on to a Student Services Account:
- Username: You will need all 9 digits of your student number
(located under your picture on your student ID card). - Password: The first time you login, your password is set to your birthday in this format MMDDYY After you have successfully logged on for the first time you will be prompted to change your password. It needs to be at least 6 characters long.
If your computer account is disabled, ask Library staff to reset your password. You will need your student ID card.
Library Account Web Access
To sign on to a Library Account you need to be registered with the Library:
- Username: You need the full Olds College Library barcode (located in the top right hand corner of your student ID card).
- Password: The password is set to the last 4 digits of your Olds phone number.
If your computer account is disabled, ask Library staff to reset your password. You will need your student ID card.
External Library Database and Journal Access
To be able to access Library Databases and E-journals from outside the campus.
- Username: You will need all 9 digits of your student number
(located under your picture on your student ID card). - Password: The password is set to your birthday in this format MMDDYY.
If your password does not work, or you would like to change your password, ask Library staff to reset your password. You will need your student ID card.
