Vision
Olds College will partner with Alberta’s oil, gas and utility industries
to raise the professionalism of Alberta’s surface land agent industry
and to maximize the supply of professional land agents to these sectors.
This Industry Partnership focuses on the recognition that the professional conduct and professional practice of land agents is essential for energy companies to secure on-going surface access to land.
The partnership also recognizes that education is the foundation for professionalism and that Olds College’s Land Agent program is an integral provider of human resources to these energy and utility sectors.
Building Better Programs
The Energy Industry Partnership will serve to establish an Energy Industry Chair at Olds College.
This is the first of Olds College’s Industry Chairs established as a means of developing and promoting National Class program development, redevelopment, delivery and industry liaison. This Energy Industry Chair will serve as a catalyst for growth in the depth and quality of surface land agent training in Alberta.
In addition to funding the Chair and their activities, the industry fund will also finance the development of
- on-line and other alternative delivery courses,
- the purchase of learning resources and equipment, and
- the facilitation of customized training initiatives to assist practicing land agents with their on-going professional development needs.
