Classifying Native Plant Communities
2-Course Series
NOTE: Dates have been changed.
Simple species identification is no longer enough as regulations are beginning to require an increased understanding of plant communities. In this 2-course series, you will learn how to recognize and classify selected forest and range plant communities and identify key indicator plant species. You will also learn how to relate plant communities to the habitats in which they occur. Your course will include a field tour where you will have opportunities to characterize upland and wetland plant communities. It is strongly recommended that you have previous experience with soils and plants or have participated in the Introduction to Soil Properties and Vegetation Management Workshop and Fundamentals of Plant Identification.
