Inspector
40 Hours Instruction
Livestock Identification Services (LIS) have opened their Olds College Inspector Certification course to those that might be interested in seeking employment in the future with this organization. Forty hours of instruction coupled with a 40-hour practicum as a “ride along” with current employees of LIS will give the student the confidence to apply to LIS for part time or full time employment when openings occur. You will learn a full understanding of the current legislation that controls livestock commerce and movement within Alberta. You will learn the aspects of a livestock inspector at points of commerce and in situations where you will be called for further animal identification.
Requirements for non Olds College students: livestock handling skills and two letters of reference detailing your ability to handle cattle and horses.
