
Meat Inspector Training Program
The meat inspection training curriculum and process varies throughout Canada and is highly dependent upon the position and resources of the regulatory agency. There is acknowledgement among training organizations and regulators of the need to streamline requirements and develop a consistent curriculum and training process for Meat Inspection across Canada.
Olds College has partnered with Alberta Agriculture and Food to develop the Innovative Meat Inspection System which would have plant personnel do basic meat inspection.
Olds College has partnered with Guelph University to develop a National Training course that will be offered with distance and residential training components, and will address both new and current inspectors training needs as well as Quality Assurance staff training.
