Sherrene has taught Ornithology at Wilfrid Laurier for over 9 years.  She received the University’s award for Excellence in Teaching, in 2003.   Sherrene has also developed a CD, Dawn Chorus which the user can download to computer or Palm OS device, such as cellphone or PDA.   This invention was patented in Jan. 2007

photo by Barry FreemanCourse description: All about birds:  anatomy, behaviour, ecology, sociology, conservation, and populations.  It is also about humans and their relationship with birds, either as scientists, or armchair ornithologists. Bird lovers join us to learn more about our feathered friends.

You can meet on line during Ms Kevan’s virtual office hours or work thru the material at your own pace.

Quizzes and Exams:  multiple choice quizzes set up for each week.  All exams will be available online. 

photo by barry FreemanLabs:  there will be a variety of labs, such as virtual, interactive, video.  Labs will be designed with the inclusion of bird species that are found in Western Canada.

Lectures: On line lectures will be audio and power point slides.
