Environmental Horticulture Diploma: Arboriculture

Arboriculture, the care of trees, is one of the fastest growing sectors of the horticulture industry. Across North America urban forests face increased pressure as our cities grow and change. As part of the Horticulture Diploma Program, the Arboriculture major gives you a unique set of skills that are in high demand. This major emphasizes the guiding principles used to manage trees in sustainable urban ecosystems. The Arboriculture major is divided into two concentration streams; Aerial for those individuals desiring a career that includes maintenance of large, mature trees, and Small Tree for those students who want to remain rooted to the ground. After completing the two year diploma in Environmental Horticulture you can continue your learning with an Olds College Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Landscape Management.
