Steer-A-Year
We're proud of our student and industry involvement in this project. The
project provides Olds College students with unique educational opportunities:
- exposure to breeds used in the Western Canadian cattle industry;
- processing to finishing experience, working with cattle;
- a chance to help establish, monitor and evaluate feed trial;
- exposure to and experience with current nutrition and production technologies.
The Steer-A-Year project provides quality comparative breed production data to our breed association partners. It also provides them the opportunity for promotion of their breed to students and the public. The project is showcased at our annual spring Open House.
