Hours and Directions

The gardens are open to the public free of charge from dawn til dusk during the gardening season (April to October).  During the winter months, the Central portion of the gardens is accessible, but the East portion is closed to the public, unless by prior arrangement.  Contact Us to explore these options.

Donation boxes are found at each entrance to the gardens, and a $5 donation is suggested.  All proceeds go to the ongoing support and care of the gardens.

The gardens are located on the campus of Olds College.  The campus is located in the town of Olds, Alberta, just off the main highway (The Queen Elizabeth Highway or Highway 2) between Alberta’s two main cities of Calgary and Edmonton.

Click here for maps and directions to the Campus.

Parking for the Central portion of the gardens is in Lot A near the Land Sciences Building. The East portion of the gardens which houses the Treatment Wetlands can be accessed by walking along the Bylands Promenade, or parking can be found in Lot D.

Please see our Campus Map for directions.

For those visiting from out of town there are many options for places to stay - hotels, motels and bed and breakfasts both in town, and in the surrounding communities of Red Deer, Calgary and others.
