Named in honor of James Murray, B.S.A. who, as principal of Olds College, guided with wisdom and integrity through the depression and war years, 1930 - 1946. Administrator, instructor, research scientist, pioneer, district agriculturalist, and member of the first Board of Agriculture, James Murray is honored as a gentleman, a citizen, and an agriculturalist. The James Murray Building was officially named on March 14, 1970 by the Honorable Robert C. Clark (Minister, of Education and Youth, member of the Legislative Assembly for the Olds-Didsbury constituency).

This building has classrooms and lecture theatres, a computer lab, and is home to our Land Agent, Land and Water Resources programs and many of our Agriculture Management courses.
