2022 Convocation Ceremony

To the class of 2022, congratulations! We are so proud of the determination and grit you have displayed during your education journey. Through your hard work you are about to achieve a major milestone -- graduating from your program of study.

Convocation is a special time for all of us. It is a time to celebrate your accomplishments and achievements. It is a time to reflect on your time as an Olds College student and dream about your future and the next steps in your career path.

Gifts: In the foyer of the Ralph Klein Centre, a vendor will be selling convocation flowers and you can pre-order flowers. The Olds College Campus Store will have Olds College merchandise and swag for sale.

Photos: A photographer will capture your photo as you cross the stage. These photos will be downloadable by link, and with the purchase of $5, one week after Convocation.

Event Overview

Medicine Teachings & Blessings at the Teepee at 10 a.m.

Elder Williams will offer teachings and create medicine bags at the Teepee by RKC.  If you would like to attend, please fill out this form. If you have any questions about this event please contact Joanne Reeves at Indigenous Services.

Doors Open at 12:30 p.m.

The doors into the gym will open at 12:30 p.m. for friends and family to be seated.

Convocation Ceremony at 2 p.m.

The ceremony will begin promptly at 2 p.m. with the Procession. We anticipate that the ceremony will last approximately 2 hours. We ask that all Graduates and guests remain for the duration of the ceremony.

President’s Reception

Immediately following the Convocation Ceremony, President Stuart Cullum invites all Graduates, family, and friends to join him for a reception to celebrate your accomplishments. The Reception will be hosted in front of the Ralph Klein Centre, weather permitting.

You do not need to RSVP for guests. Seating for family and guests is first come, first served. Students will be contacted prior to Convocation with more specific details. 

Round Dance 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.

Everyone is invited to participate in a Round Dance in the Richardson Field directly adjacent to the Ralph Klein Centre. The Red Crow College Drum Circle and Olds College Indigenous Services will show you how to take part in a Round Dance, no experience required!

Kristina-Rae Nordquist

Kristina has maintained an impressive 4.0 GPA throughout her studies in the Land & Water Resources program, majoring in Land Reclamation & Remediation.  Kristina was selected as an excellent candidate based on her outstanding academic achievements, her campus involvement as President of the Land & Water Student Club, an excellent letter of recommendation from faculty and a student peer, and her valedictorian speech presented to the selection committee.
