The Communications and Marketing group is seeking a creative, organized, team player to join our team for a temporary term of approximately 12 months at a 0.80 FTE.  If you enjoy planning large events, have the ability to problem solve in the moment, and have a solid understanding of event management, strategic communications planning and marketing, this is the job for you!

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications & Marketing, the Communications & Events Advisor is responsible for creating, executing and evaluating all major events at Olds College, including our annual fundraisers and convocation. This position will create strategic communication and marketing plans to support different business initiatives, including the production of communication tactics, key messages, digital and printed material designed to grow and support the Olds College brand. The Communications & Events Advisor works with internal clients on campus to create trusted partnerships, and supports each area by providing them with strategic communication, event management, and marketing advice.

A post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Event Management, or a similar discipline and a minimum of 3 years of directly related work experience is required.  Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, superior organizational and time management abilities, proficiency in Google Suites and Microsoft Office and high ethical standards are required.  The incumbent will have the ability to work effectively within a team environment as well as independently. A demonstrated ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality is essential.
