The full-time role of Smart Ag Techgronomist will contribute to positioning Olds College as a leader in Smart Agriculture, providing expertise in agronomy, ag technology, and project management capability as it applies to farm operations and the definition, implementation, management, and delivery of industry and partner projects through technology testing and evaluation on the Olds College Smart Farm.  This role will have ongoing involvement with the farm team as well as stakeholders and industry partners through project definition, planning, and results reporting.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess a Diploma in Ag Production or Ag Management or BSc in Agriculture or related credentials with five or more years experience in agronomy, ag tech consulting, project management and farm operations as they relate to Smart Ag.  Holding a P. Ag designation or in the process of completing, AIA or equivalent membership and a PMP & CCA designation would be preferred. The ability to communicate farm concepts effectively both verbally and in writing as well as possessing a high digital agricultural literacy through experience with ag technology and software programs are required.  The demonstrated ability for critical and design thinking skills as well as being a highly motivated self-starter with a collaborative team approach.
