The Continuing Education Department is seeking candidates to add to a roster for contract opportunities to instruct courses within the Veterinary Practice Management (VPM) online certificate program.

Location:   Olds, Alberta

The Continuing Education Department is seeking candidates to add to a roster for contract opportunities to instruct courses within the Veterinary Practice Management (VPM) online certificate program. The anticipated term of employment for these contract opportunities will be 12 weeks per course, with start dates throughout the year. Successful candidates will be added to a roster and contacted as opportunities arise.
 

The successful candidates will have a minimum five (5) years of applicable industry experience as a Veterinary Practice Manager, Administrator, or similar. Preference will be given to those with applicable formal education and/or designation as a Veterinary Practice Manager. Candidates must have expertise in at least 2 of the 6 certificate course areas: 

  • Veterinary Marketing 
  • Veterinary Systems & Operating Procedures 
  • Veterinary Human Resources 
  • Veterinary Communications 
  • Veterinary Financial Management 
  • Veterinary Computer Applications 

Familiarity with the duties and responsibilities required for successful practice management is required. Preference will be given to those with experience in both small and mixed animal clinics. Relevant computer skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work and collaborate online with students are essential. Previous instructional experience or training is a definite asset, as is prior experience utilizing an Online Learning Management System such as Moodle.


Instructors will be required to review and update course materials as necessary, deliver course content using Moodle, assess learner achievement, facilitate a positive and productive online student learning experience, and participate in post-course evaluations.
