Are you passionate about Livestock Production and interested in assisting industry in production efficiency, animal health and welfare, and environmental sustainability? 

Reporting to the Manager of the Technology Access Centre for Livestock Production (TACLP), the Business Development Coordinator is responsible for sharing livestock production technology information and services with producers , coordinating communication and marketing activities for the TACLP, and assisting in the preparation of grant proposals, field days and presentations. The Business Development Coordinator will also assist with hands-on applied research projects in the area of livestock technologies and related services. The TACLP is focused on meeting the needs of the Canadian livestock industry by providing access to new technologies that improve production efficiencies, industry sustainability and producer viability. Research and innovation services are provided in support of feed efficiency and animal health, including feed efficiency testing, carcass analysis, behavioral assessment, early disease detection, genomics and breed selection. The TACLP primarily serves cattle and sheep producers by providing technology demonstration and tools to help accelerate the adoption of innovation in the livestock sector.

The Business Development Coordinator will work closely with the Olds College Centre for Innovation, Olds College Farm staff, and faculty experts. Key job activities include assisting with proposal writing, coordinating applied research and service, and organizing extension and outreach opportunities for the livestock industry.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, or a related field (Master’s degree would be considered an asset), along with 3 years of related experience. There is also a requirement for having strong industry contacts, familiarity with the livestock industry, and a proven ability in business development and collaborative partnerships. We are looking for someone with effective communication skills who is organized, detail-oriented, and has the ability to work under minimal supervision. Our ideal candidate also displays honesty, integrity, and a strong sense of ethics in all decisions and actions.
