Olds College is seeking an analytical and customer focused team player who is responsible for responding to the business needs and furthering the documentation, testing and implementation of transformative enterprise application solutions.

Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the Systems Analyst is a permanent, full-time position primarily responsible for the operation, support and ongoing evolution of various enterprise applications, specifically, the Student Information System (Ellucian Banner).  

The key responsibilities of the Systems Analyst, Enterprise Application include:

  • Providing quality support for college-adopted software solutions and online services.
  • Working with vendors and online communities to identify effective solutions to support college business needs and processes.
  • Effectively documenting all stages of the application implementation and configuration.
  • Conducting rigorous testing to ensure acceptable quality of each delivered solution.
  • Assisting Student Services with Banner administration and configuration for optimal use.
  • Identifying, isolating, documenting and communicating technical issues to Ellucian Managed Services for investigation. Then testing and verifying functionality during the issue resolution process.
  • Developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders, communicating clearly and effectively.

The ideal candidate will possess a Degree in Business, Computer Science or a related discipline supplemented with five or more years of related experience in systems analysis, database administration and applications support. Certification in PMI, ITIL or COBIT would be considered assets as would experience supporting Microsoft SQL databases, Oracle Databases, complex SQL queries, Java web servers, and Oracle Fusion Middleware. Other combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered. The ideal candidate will have a genuine commitment to service and the capacity to work independently as well as in a team environment.
