Contract opportunities are available to tutor Olds College students at the Olds College Learning Commons during the 2019-2020 academic year (September 3, 2019 - April 30, 2020) Hours vary according to subject and student needs. Applicants must be prepared to work flexible hours, which may include days and/or evenings.   

The tutor(s) will facilitate student learning in both one-on-one and group settings. Preference will be given to those individuals with a strong background in Ag and Heavy Equipment, Chemistry, Soils, Accounting, Math, Animal Health Technology, Fashion, Apparel Technology, and Writing. Responsibilities also include data recording/reporting as assigned. Tutor(s) will report to the Manager, Student Experience and Educational Design, but may be required to communicate and collaborate with instructors as needed.   

The ideal candidate must possess a Baccalaureate or Diploma in a related discipline and tutoring/teaching experience at the post-secondary level. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. The ideal candidate possesses strong interpersonal skills, as well as time management skills and a willingness to learn and grow professionally. The candidate must be an effective communicator comfortable working with diverse populations (including those for whom English is a second language). Enthusiasm for integrating technology into learning strategies is desirable; successful candidates will be proficient in both MS Office and the Google suite of apps.
