Location: Olds, Alberta

The Health & Wellness Services department has opportunities available for individuals to work on a casual/call-in basis. The successful individuals will be participants in a pool of nursing staff who will provide services for students and staff and participate as an active member of the Olds College Health & Wellness team. Hours of work may include day and evening shifts, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend requirements. Shifts are typically 3 hours/day to 7.25 hours/day and schedules are available on a monthly basis.  

Reporting to the Manager, Health & Wellness the nurse will be responsible for the delivery of health services to Olds College students and staff. The primary functions of this role will include developing and delivering health and wellness programming; participating in health and mental health initiatives; assessment and, where appropriate, referral of physical and mental health issues; identification of public health issues; and collaboration with the academic schools and student housing, as required, in relation to student health issues. In addition, the Nurse will respond to emergency situations on campus where Olds College staff, students, and visitors require First Aid. Nurses will also be a part of a collaborative team of service professionals responsible for developing a range of educational and promotional initiatives to deliver to the College staff and students.  

A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing and a minimum of three years of related work experience in a broad range of nursing is required. The successful candidates will be registered or eligible for registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) with no restrictions. Current CPR and AED or a willingness to attain these certifications upon hire, is required.
