The Olds College Brewery has two (2) summer job opportunities available working at the Olds College Brewery. Working under the direction of the General Manager and the Brewmaster, the Student Brewery Assistants will work in all areas of the Brewery including assisting with brewing, packaging, deliveries, general commercial operations, and retail.

The anticipated term of employment is from April 28th, 2019 to September 1st, 2019 and will average about 37.5 hours per week. Work hours will include some late afternoon or evening shifts, special events, as well as some weekend work.

The Brewery Assistant plays a large role in maintaining high quality products, and will assist with the day to day responsibilities of the Brewmaster. Duties will include:

  • Maintenance of equipment including cleaning and sanitization
  • Generation of daily production manufacturing/testing worksheets
  • Assist in development and research for new projects
  • Retail support as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will be a secondary or post-secondary student prior to and/or immediately following their work period. A valid driver’s license is required. Due to the physically demanding nature of some components the candidate must be physically fit and able repeatedly lift up to 55lbs. The candidate should be skilled using a computer, and have experience in programs such as Microsoft Office, and the Google Suite. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability and passion for practicing safety in the workplace. Preference will be given to applicants who have a knowledge of the manufacturing process and experience in brand development.

Temporary employees shall be paid in addition to their regular rate of pay, fourteen percent (14%) of their earnings in lieu of vacation and named statutory holidays.
