How to Apply:

  • Please Note: Due to difficulties in obtaining the required Work Permit, applications from International applicants will not be accepted for the Exercise Rider and Jockey Training program and the Racehorse Groom Training program.
  • Submit an application online at www.applyalberta.ca or the red 'Apply Now' buttom below
  • Submit a transcript assessment - Olds College requires High school transcripts from outside of Canada to be assessed by the International Qualification Assessment Service (IQAS) or similar international transcript assessment service (requirement may be waived for applicants who have completed their education in the United States or United Kingdom or upon the discretion of the Student Recruitment Office).   The IQAS 'Assessment for an Education Institution' costs approximately $100.00 CAN and takes approximately 6 to 12 weeks once a complete application is received.

English Language Proficiency

The language of instruction at Olds College is English.  Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate they have completed at least three years of academic study conducted completely in the English language.  Any applicant who does not meet this requirement must demonstrate language proficiency through successful completion of a recognized English language assessment test dated within two years of submitting an application to Olds College.

English language assessments and the corresponding scores recognized by Olds College are as follows:

  • TOEFL score of at least 79 (computer based) or 550 (paper based)
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of at least 6.0
  • Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) score  of at least 60
  • Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment (CLBA) score of at least 8.0
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) score of at least 53-54

Important Information

Applications will remain pending until ALL required documentation is received.

Applications are not carried over from one year to the next. You must submit a new application form along with all other necessary documentation each time you apply for admission to Olds College.
