Digital Camera Basics 1

This course will provide technical information on how to use your new digital camera. We will cover many of the basic and advanced camera settings, concepts, and get a start on some composition ideas/rules. We will start to explore how to fix, crop or resize a picture after it is taken. Bring your camera, USB cord and manual.

Digital Camera Basics 2

This course will provide technical information on how to use your new digital camera. We will cover many of the basic and advanced camera settings, concepts, and get a start on some composition ideas/rules. We will start to explore how to fix, crop or resize a picture after it is taken. Bring your camera, USB cord and manual.

Portrait Photography

There will be a brief refresher on basic camera settings and concepts. The course will cover basic portrait picture taking concepts as well as how to be more creative in taking portrait pictures. Prerequisite: Digital Camera Basics OR Familiarity with the concepts of white balance, shutter and aperture, manual settings etc.   Bring your camera, USB cord and manual.

Creative Photography 1

This course will expand and use the ideas from the Digital Basics class to show creative ways to make your pictures more interesting. We will continue the exploration of post image manipulation to further enhance, and alter a picture to make it more interesting. Bring your camera, USB cord and manual.

Creative Photography 2

This course will continue the exploration of the Creative Photography 1 class with an assignment that will ask you to try a more creative approach to taking a picture. Bring your camera, USB cord and manual.

You’ve taken hundreds of beautiful photos, now what?

Learn to create interesting slide shows, movies, digital scrapbooks using various online tools and photo storage options.  Collaborate and share photos with members of your family to create that special photo project for Chistmas, birthdays, retirements & anniversaries.

Bring a memory stick with 20 pictures on it to create your first slide show!

Manipulating Digital Images

Use Adobe Photoshop Elements to perfect your digital images.

Topics include how to:

  • brighten images
  • lighten shadows
  • work with color saturation
  • remove color
  • work in layers
  • use the clone tool
  • resize, rotate and flip images
  • and add artistic effects

Explore how digital images can be used, such as in documents, e-mail, and wallpapers. Bring some photos on a memory stick.
