Soil Sensor Cluster

Olds College is comparing the accuracy and functionality of soil sensors and their capabilities to measure soil properties, such as moisture and salinity, to allow for faster and informed decision making. By placing a variety of sensors from RealmFive Agriculture, Arable and Pessl/Metos in a clustered format in numerous cropping fields on the Smart Farm, the experiences the College has working with these sensor technologies on a commercial-scale farming enterprise can be evaluated and compared.
