Whether you’re looking at entering the workforce, performing basic welding task, or creating works of art – this is the place to start! Welders join or sever metals in a variety of metal components as well as fabricate metal parts used in construction and manufacturing plants, and weld parts, tools, machines and equipment. Upon successful completion of the pre-employment program, students who meet the apprenticeship requirements for the trade (see www.tradesecrets.alberta.ca) are eligible to write the First Period apprenticeship exam. (There is a fee, payable to Apprenticeship and Industry Training, to write the exam. This fee is in addition to tuition, books and supplies.) CSA approved personal protective equipment is required to complete the practical portion of this program. You may be required to purchase other tools and equipment for your chosen trade.
