A study tour offers unique travel experience that combines learning with travel. Several Olds College programs offer and incorporate exciting study tour opportunities! Travelling to various parts of the globe help students and faculty learn, exchange, and grow in their field.

Brewmaster & Brewery Operations Management in Yakima, Washington

Every September first year students are encouraged to go on a field trip to the hop epicentre of North America located in Yakima, Washington State. This 5 day trip exposes students to commercial scale field production of hops, research, processing and sale. Students will also tour breweries, vineyards and distilleries while getting to expand their brewing network and getting to know colleagues in the program.

Apparel Technology in New York, New York

Every two years The Fashion Institute offers students in Fashion Apparel and Costume Cutting and Construction an industry-related, international trip to New York City! While in the fashion capital of North America, students have the opportunity to be immersed into the fashion and costume industries by attending several fashion label companies, costumes companies, and The Met Costume Institute. Students stay in the heart of Time Square for quick access to the museums, great shopping and world renowned entertainment!

Golf Course Management in San Antonio, Texas

Each year, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America invite all turfgrass and golf course management institutions around the world to participate in an annual “Turf Bowl” competition. The competition is designed to help future golf course superintendents test their knowledge identified as critical to the profession. It is a great opportunity for OC students to adapt their cool season management programs into warm season growing environments.
