Update 3: March 13

There are currently no presumptive or confirmed cases at Olds College (as of March 13, at 9:00 a.m.).

As requested by the Alberta government, Olds College will be canceling all large gatherings and events that have more than 250 attendees. This includes all external and student events. At this time all events scheduled from today until April 30, 2020 will be impacted.

Olds College Events Canceled:

  • Residence Appreciation Night - March 18
  • Athletics Awards Night - April 1
  • SAOC Last Chance Dance - April 3
  • Canadian Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Rodeo - April 4-5
  • Homestead Feast - April 17

Conference Services will be reaching out to all external event organizers to work on rescheduling events that have over 250 attendees.

Any event that has more than 50 attendees and expects to have international participants, or involves critical infrastructure staff, seniors, or other high-risk populations should also be cancelled. Events that do not meet these criteria can proceed, but risk mitigation must be in place, such as sanitizer stations and distancing between attendees.

Olds College employees are advised when possible to meet over the phone (conference) or electronic web meetings, etc.

Only those external meetings (onsite or offsite) deemed essential to College operations are permitted.  Seek clarification from your supervisor if you have any questions.

All Olds College related international travel by students and staff is not permitted until further notice.
