Update 41: September 20, 2021
On Sept. 15, 2021 the Government of Alberta declared a State of Public Health Emergency in response to rising COVID-19 cases. To ensure that we can continue to uphold the integrity of our learning environment by continuing to offer access to hands-on, in-person learning in a safe environment for our staff and students, Olds College has implemented the Government of Alberta’s Proof of Vaccine Policy Program, as outlined under Health Order 42-2021 Exemption Request.
Effective Monday, September 20, 2021, prior to coming onto campus, Olds College staff and students are required to either:
provide proof of vaccination
At least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the World Health Organization by Sept. 20, 2021
Fully immunized with a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the World Health Organization by November 1, 2021
provide proof of a medical exemption, or
provide proof of a privately-paid negative PCR or rapid test that has been completed within 72 hours of each daily attendance on campus.
NOTE: Olds College will reimburse the cost of the PCR or rapid testing for those students and staff who decide to get vaccinated between September 7 - 20, 2021 (up to $60 per test).
Rapid Tests will be available for purchase at the Olds College Health & Wellness Centre starting Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021 at 1 p.m.
Olds College Reimbursement program ends October 4, 2021. Proof of vaccination will be required for reimbursement.
As part of the Government of Alberta’s Proof of Vaccine Policy Program for post-secondaries, masks remain mandatory for indoor public spaces.
Drop-In COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics on Campus
All students and staff are welcome to attend the AHS drop-in COVID-19 vaccine clinic taking place on October 18, 2021 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and October 19, 2021 from 1 - 4 p.m. at the AHS clinic located in the Ralph Klein Centre (RKC) on campus.
Vaccine appointments can also be made online through Alberta Health Services.
If you are sick, stay home.
If you are feeling unwell, stay home and fill out the online COVID-19 Self Assessment or call 811. We must all continue to monitor our health and to practice good hygiene habits like hand washing. All staff and students must continue to follow the isolation and quarantine requirements. Any student who is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 that are not related to a pre-existing illness or health condition should fill out the Student Isolation Registration form.
