Update 7: March 18, 2020

Classes Canceled March 16-20, 2020

All classes remain suspended from March 16-20, 2020. Classes will resume Monday, March 23 in an online or alternate format. 

Your Instructors will be in contact with you by March 23, 2020. They will send a communication to inform you of the remaining course “at a glance”  and clearly articulate changes in course delivery that will address the following topics:

  • Specific changes to lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments
  • Expectations and requirements of participation in the course work
  • Virtual office hours to enable you opportunities to connect with your instructors

Campus Remains Open with Restrictions

Based on the guidelines provided by the Alberta Government, the following public spaces on Olds College will be closed, including:

    • The Atrium located in the Land Science Building, Wetlands and Botanic Gardens

    • CLC Fitness Centre, riding arenas and gymnasiums 

    • The Crossing, Tim Hortons and Centre Court in RKC

    • All student lounges, such as the Hive

  • Elements Dining Hall will have reduced hours, and limit capacity to 50 patrons at a time. New Hours: 7 - 9 a.m., 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 5 - 7 p.m. daily.

  • The Learning Commons front desk is open, however the social spaces in the Learning Commons are closed. 

  • The Health & Wellness Centre remains open, however all counseling appointments will now be done over the phone or through video conference. Doctors will not be on campus, the school nurse will be available. 

  • Greenhouse Sales will continue.

  • The Retail Meat Store will remain open until Friday, March 20. 

  • The Brewery will remain open, but limit patrons allowed in at one time.

  • Events that have 50 or more attendees will be canceled. 

  • All student events have been canceled, including Long Night Against Procrastination.
