Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator Safety and Proficiency Certification. 

Industry is seeing a need to for their experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to have safety and proficiency certification in order to bid on contracts or meet insurance requirements. 

Olds College has government approved Heavy Equipment Operator Curriculum. We are able to provide equipment specific safety and competency certification.  Successful participants will receive a safety and proficiency certificate that is valid for 3 years. 

Equipment certification available:

  • Skid steer
  • Excavator
  • Dozer
  • Grader
  • Packer
  • Others upon special request. 

$275/piece of equipment, the company/client supplies equipment, or rental of equipment will be added into cost. 4 participants Maximum per day.

CFC/HCFC/HFC Control in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry

 

Based on Environment Canada's "Code of Practice for Reducing CFC Emissions in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems," this one day course addresses environmentally-correct equipment design, proper handling of CFC/HCFC/HFC's, and will prepare participants for complying with provincial regulations. This course is suitable for residential, commercial, industrial, domestic, automotive and mobile applications. Participants must achieve 75% to receive certification.

Introduction to Small Engines 

For beginner mechanics and those who would like to have more hands on experience, this course will cover the theory and techniques to diagnose and repair small engines. Motorcycles, lawnmowers, garden tractors, edge trimmers and snowmobiles all us small engines. This course will provide you with a better understanding on how to diagnose electrical fuel  and mechanical problems and quickly make the needed repairs.

Air Brake Endorsement 

Air Brake Endorsement 

Complete the requirement of the Alberta Transportation "Q" Endorsement for vehicles using and air brakes system,. Practical and written exams are given at the end of the course. Successful completion of both the theory and practical component are required.
