Olds College Prepares for Fall Semester

Olds College Prepares for Fall Semester Planning is underway at Olds College for delivery of the fall semester. Due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, the College is preparing for multiple delivery scenarios that will accommodate the restrictions put in place by Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, while providing students with the best possible learning experience.

As the College prepares for re-entry, the following represent the phases we are preparing for:

Re-entry phase one: current COVID-19 restrictions remain in place, with limited to no on campus instruction. The majority of classes will continue to be offered through remote delivery.

Re-entry phase two: some COVID-19 restrictions remain in place. Where possible, program delivery will return to campus in redesigned formats that accommodate social distance and safety protocols. Due to the unique nature of each of our programs, each program will be considered on an individual basis to determine the most appropriate learning environment in this phase.

Re-entry phase three: COVID-19 restrictions are reduced to a level where all on-campus classes resume and campus is fully open to the public.

“The health and safety of our campus community continues to be our top priority in dealing with the Covid-19 situation,” comments Stuart Cullum, President, Olds College. “While we are eager to get our students back on campus, we will act according to the guidelines put forward by Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health. Our faculty and staff continue to prepare our curriculum and delivery methods to ensure that our students receive excellent learning experiences, throughout the phases of our re-entry process.”

“We want students to know that Olds College is open and we will be ready for the fall term. We are hopeful that we will be into Phase two, but will be ready regardless and will strive to maintain a consistent approach to content delivery. If you have questions don’t hesitate to contact us,” adds President Cullum.

All relevant information (including our current re-entry phase) is posted on our website. Students will also receive email updates, as the College prepares to move into Phase two and three.
