Olds College celebrated the graduating classes of 2020 and 2021 on Saturday, June 5, 2021, via two virtual ceremonies, which marked the College’s 105th and 106th Convocation.

Celebrating the 105th and 106th Graduating Classes!

Olds College celebrated the graduating classes of 2020 and 2021 on Saturday, June 5, 2021, via two virtual ceremonies, which marked the College’s 105th and 106th Convocation. 

Premiering over YouTube, both ceremonies began with Master of Ceremonies Debbie Thompson celebrating the success and perseverance of the 2020 and 2021 convocates, who have demonstrated determination, hard work and intellect while completing their studies during a global pandemic.

Territorial acknowledgement was made by Elder Calvin Williams, followed by greetings from Earl Dreeshen, MP, Red Deer - Mountain View and Nathan Cooper, MLA Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills. Andrew Thun, President, Olds College Student Association, introduced the Valedictorians for 2020 and 2021. 

The 2020 Valedictorian Address was given by Applied Science - Agribusiness convocate Jamie Kuzma, with the 2021 Valedictorian Address given by Business Management Diploma - Sports Management Major convocate Katharina Oeltermann.

Stuart Cullum, President of Olds College, delivered a message to the convocates, recognising their perseverance to succeed during a global pandemic and urging them to put forward their knowledge from Olds College and to take advantage of the opportunities as they present themselves.

Honorary awards were presented to Sheldon Kennedy for 2020 and posthumously to Robert Clark for 2021. 

Convocation concluded with graduation award presentations, with awards presented by the Olds College Board of Governors, the Alumni Association, the Faculty Association of Olds College and President Stuart Cullum. Award winners included:
