Horse Hoof Care and Trimming

Continuing Education - Horse Hoof Care

What can you expect from this program/course?

Save money and improve hoof health by learning the basics of hoof anatomy, care and trimming.  This 2 1/2 day course will give you a great introduction to trimming and even the opportunity to trim your own horse by the end.

What will you learn?

You will practice trimming in a supervised setting. If you would like to put your newly acquired knowledge to use immediately, you have the opportunity to bring your own horses on the last day of the course; this way you can trim your horses for the first time with assistance & guidance from your instructor.

Students will learn:

Can youth take this course?

For our equine short courses, there is technically no age restriction. As long as a student is 13, independent (no parents along to oversee) or over and feels confident with the subject (in this case they are comfortable/experienced handling horses), then we will allow them to enroll. We have had a number of teenagers take most of the short equine courses over the years and they have been successful.

Will I receive a certificate for completing this course?

Yes, you will receive a certificate of participation. Please note that this does not in any way 'certify' you to practice trimming horses for other people, it only recognizes that you have completed the course.
