Barrel Racing Clinic with Diane Skocdopole
Description: Clinic featuring Canadian Professional Barrel Racer Diane Skocdopole, who is a 2 time Calgary Stampede qualifier, 2 time Canadian Finals Rodeo qualifier, round winner and reserve average champion, 2017 CPRA rookie and permit award winner, multiple pro rodeo winner, FCA rodeo finalist and futurity and derby money earner. A weekend full of learning, sharpen your skills with pattern work and different drill exercises to help perfect your run. Gain knowledge about different bits and improve your mind game.

Driving Clinics Level 1
Learn to drive your horse! Now is your opportunity to learn in a safe and supervised environment while you master the fundamentals of horse driving, harnessing, and the dynamics of driving a team.
This course will offer you hands-on experience in:
- Harnessing
- Ground driving
- Hooking to equipment
- Driving a single horse and team

Artificial Insemination
What can you expect from this program/course?
This course is designed to provide participants with the opportunity to obtain practical knowledge and acquire some of the hands-on skills necessary to successfully use artificial insemination and transported cooled semen to breed horses on their farms.
There will be classroom theory components, demonstrations, and hands-on learning sessions where students will gain exposure to the most current “best practices” of artificial insemination and transported cooled semen. Please come dressed appropriately for horse handling (boots, gloves, proper clothing).

Equine Massage

This course utilizes both theory-based knowledge training and hands-on massage for your horse. Some prior knowledge of equine anatomy will assist learners to gain the maximum knowledge & benefit from this course, however it is not required. This course will give horse owners the ability to:
- Better understand what the body language of your horse is telling you about their comfort level
- Recognize muscle soreness or dysfunction
- Provide comfort for sore/stiff muscles and related soft tissue stress
- Improve the ability of your horse to return to work sooner after injury or exertion
- Recognize when it is time to contact your equine health professional

Equine Photography
This is a one-day Equine Photography course, that will touch on multiple areas of the photography industry, including marketing, business, lighting, camera angles, editing and printing. Bring your own camera and gear, learn with one of the best in the industry.

Goat Tying Clinic with Kyla Kelly
Description: Goat Tying Clinic featuring Kyla Kelly, 2017 NJHSR Goat Tying Champion, multiple time NHSFR qualifier and short go qualifier. Simplifying the run to create positive muscle memory. Improve your mindset, skills and technique for a result of faster, more consistent and competitive runs.

Horse Hoof Care and Trimming
What can you expect from this program/course?
Save money and improve hoof health by learning the basics of hoof anatomy, care and trimming. This 2 1/2 day course will give you a great introduction to trimming and even the opportunity to trim your own horse by the end.You will practice trimming in a supervised setting. If you would like to put your newly acquired knowledge to use immediately, you have the opportunity to bring your own horses on the last day of the course; this way you can trim your horses for the first time with assistance & guidance from your instructor. Students will learn:
- Hoof anatomy
- The basics of hoof care
- How to treat minor hoof problems
- When to call a farrier

Professional Racetrack Exercise Rider Program
What can you expect from this course?
The Professional Racetrack Exercise Rider Program is a “Learn and Earn” concept program that will give you the confidence and skill to become a professional licensed Exercise Rider at Alberta Horse Racing Tracks! This unique program has a blended approach that will allow you to study online, learn from and practice your skill with industry professional instructors. You will acquire the skills you need to exercise race horses on a track.

January 18 - February 12, 2021: Online (instructor guided in Moodle)
February 16 - March 12, 2021: Face to face at Olds College (includes chores and class time plus chores on weekends)
March 15 - April 9, 2021: Face to Face at Century Mile Racetrack in Nisku (includes chores and classtime, and on-track work with instructors).
April 12 - April 30, 2021: Earn and Learn with trainers at Century Mile Racetrack in Nisku plus on-track work with instructors.
Professional Racetrack Groom Course
What can you expect from this course?
The Professional Racetrack Groom Course is a “Learn and Earn” concept program that will give you the confidence and skill to become a professional licensed Groom at Alberta Horse Racing Tracks! This unique program has a blended approach that will allow you to study online, learn from and practice your skill with industry professional instructors, all while allowing you to earn a wage working in the industry! You will acquire the skills you need to provide intensive professional care to elite race horses.
