COVID-19 & Admissions Update

Changes to high school curriculum delivery and the cancellation of Grade 12 Diploma exams will not impact admissions to Olds College. Olds College will continue to use final high school grades as recorded on official transcripts to make admission decisions. According to Alberta Education, students in Grade 12 will be assessed and receive a final mark (percentage).

  • Out of province applicants should refer to their Provincial Education Board for information on the issuance of final grades.

  • Olds College does not require students to write diploma exams in order to be admitted.

  • Applicants who have been offered Conditional Admission (based on mid-term Grade 12 or final Grade 11 marks) will be granted Full Admission once final grades are submitted and minimum course and grade requirements are met.

  • Applicants will be updated on final admission decisions by email once final grades are received.

What is conditional admission and how do I know if I qualify for it?

Prior to attending Olds College, all students must achieve Full Admission Status. Conditional Admission provides you with a seat in the program and is granted on the basis of your current marks and confirmation of enrolment in the courses needed to fulfill the admission requirements for your program.

Final marks must be submitted within one month following the completion of each course, and no later than one month prior to the program start date. Final marks will be reviewed and admission status assessed upon submission of final marks. Please ensure you have made arrangements for this to occur, as you don’t want to risk losing your seat in the program. Once Full Admission has been granted, applicants will be notified via email and mail that this status has been achieved.
