Olds College Fees
Tuition: Fees Olds College has been authorized to collect by the Provincial Government under the Post-Secondary Learning Act [Sec. 61(1)] for the use of instruction in courses that are part of programs approved by Alberta Advanced Education (AAE) under the Program of Study Regulation (AR 91/2009).
Program Fee: Fees Olds College collects to cover the costs of materials and supplies that facilitate instruction in a program that are not included in tuition.
Field Trip Fee: To cover the travel costs for field trips.
Health and Wellness Service Fee: To provide services to students in the areas of nursing and healthcare, counselling, and health promotion and education.
Indigenous Service Fee: To provide students with opportunities to learn about Indigenous knowledge and ways of knowing including traditional and cultural events and knowledge sharing activities.
Registrar’s Office Service Fee: to provide services to students in the areas of student academic advising, student funding and awards, work integrated learning, academic records, convocation events and orientation.
Information Technology (IT) Service Fee: To provide information technology (IT) services to students in the areas of printing, learning management system, Classroom A/V Equipment, lab and Learning Commons computers, internet and wifi, and student facing IT operational and software costs.
Library Service Fee: To provide access to students in the areas of accessibility services, help desk and the learning commons, library collections, tutoring and learning coach services.
Athletics and Recreation Fee: To provide services to students in the area of athletics, complimentary game day experience, recreational and fitness programming opportunities, access to the Fitness Centre, and access to the Aquatic Centre.
Students' Association (SAOC) Fees
Students’ Association of Olds College (SAOC) Operations Fee: This fee is used to support a variety of student focused services and initiatives such as student advocacy, health and wellness events, student scholarships & awards, academic support, volunteerism & leadership opportunities, The Crossing Restaurant and Pub, Bloom Cafe, student clubs, The SAOC Pantry, marketing & communications, maintenance and upkeep of student spaces, and daily operational costs.
**Exclusion: this fee is not charged to students enrolled in Dual Credit, or students enrolled in Continuing Education non-PAPRS approved credentials
Health and Dental Benefit Plan: The SAOC offers an extended Health and Dental plan for full-time students that provides coverage for one year after commencement. Students with existing health and dental benefit plans, may complete a form to opt out of this fee.
This fee is not charged to students enrolled in Heavy Equipment Operator, Pre-Employment programs, Apprenticeship programs, Applied Degree DFS, Dual Credit, and Continuing Education non-PAPRS approved credentials - students in these programs may inquire about opting in to the plan by contacting the SAOC Student Benefits Plan Office.
