2. Meet Admission Requirements to Program of Study

Acceptable applicants must submit their course selection to the Registrar’s Office at Olds College five months prior to Registration Day (end of April for programs starting in September). Course selection requests will be accommodated provided all course prerequisites have been met and class sizes and quotas allow. Applicants who submit their course selection late may be considered, however, they will be given lower priority with reference to seats in a given class. All international students must present a valid Student Visa upon registration.

Students must fill out and submit an application form ($78.75 CAN required) and provide written authorization from the responsible officer of the applicant’s home institution. This authorization must indicate that the student is currently registered at the home institution, or affiliation with the home institution by means of graduation or employment.

No formal institutional agreement needs to be in place for students to attend Olds College as international visiting students. However, proof of registration and recommendation from the applicant’s home institution must be presented to Olds College upon application. Please note that applicants from institutions with formal agreements will be given priority. Quotas may apply.

After you have completed the Application for Admission form, you will need to make electronic copies of your proof of language proficiency exam, if applicable, as well as your International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) results, if applicable. Create a file including these three documents and email the file to admit@oldscollege.ca. In the subject of the message you should specify the name of the program you are applying to. 4. Transcript Assessment

Olds College requires High school transcripts from outside of Canada to be assessed by the International Qualification Assessment Service or similar international transcript assessment service. This requirement may be waived for applicants who have completed their education in the United States or United Kingdom, or upon the discretion of the Admissions department. The International Qualification Assessment Service assessment for an Education Institution costs approximately $100.00 CAN and takes approximately 6 to 12 weeks once a complete application is received.

You can also use another academic assessment services such as the World Education Services (WES). Please note that if you have completed your high school studies and any other post-secondary studies in the USA and/or in the UK, you DO NOT need to send your transcripts for assessment, as the USA and the UK have very similar academic benchmarks to the Canadian one. In this scenario, apply by using electronic copies of your original transcripts in English, as issued by your educational institution.

At the moment you send your transcripts, you may request IQAS to send a copy of your results directly to Olds College or you can send them in with your other application documents. Please note, IQAS will take between 6 to 12 weeks to give you a reply.
