WEED-IT is a precision sprayer designed to apply herbicide directly on weeds and avoid wastage. The goal is helping producers reduce herbicide use and subsequently costs related to herbicide application.
Olds College is conducting research to evaluate the efficiency and useability of WEED-IT, and provide farmers with information to make informed decisions about integrating this type of technology on their farms. This project assesses performance, accuracy, and cost effectiveness of optical spot spraying in Western Canadian cropping conditions.
