Dr. Felippe Karp PhD, MSc, BSc

Bio

Dr. Felippe Karp is an Instructor and Researcher in the Werklund School of Agriculture Technology at Olds College. His work focuses on developing statistical and machine learning tools that improve how agricultural data from field trials, sensors, and imagery is analyzed and translated into decision support for growers and researchers.

His projects span automated anomaly detection models for precision agriculture sensor data, crop lodging detection from remote sensing imagery, and geospatial modeling for site-specific management recommendations.

He has also contributed to the design and development of the HyperLayer Data Platform, an agricultural research data infrastructure at Olds College, and collaborates with industry partners to build data-driven decision support systems for Canadian producers. Felippe holds a PhD in Bioresource Engineering from McGill University, an MSc from Louisiana State University, and a BSc from ESALQ/University of São Paulo, Brazil.
