Clarence Marie Santos BSc

Research Assistant

Bio

Clarence is a Research Assistant supporting crop production research activities within the Olds College Centre of Innovation (OCCI). Clarence assists with fieldwork, laboratory studies, data management and communication efforts.

Clarence enjoys the hands-on nature of field and lab work, as well as conducting literature reviews that help inform and design future trials. Applying scientific knowledge to practical agricultural challenges and collaborating with a dedicated research team makes her work both engaging and fulfilling.

With a Bachelor of Science in Biology, majoring in Plant Biology, from the University of the Philippines, she is now pursuing a diploma in Precision Agriculture Techgronomy at Olds College of Agriculture & Technology. She is passionate about integrating digital tools and data-driven decision-making into agriculture, with a particular focus on enhancing crop management and promoting sustainability.

Outside of work, Clarence enjoys running, hiking and exploring Alberta’s landscapes. She is also trying to learn skiing — something new and exciting, as it’s not a sport she had growing up in a tropical country. She loves learning about sustainable farming technologies and participating in community and student initiatives related to agriculture.
