Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day

Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025 has been designated as Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day — a day to honour those who serve and protect and those who have given their lives in the line of duty. All flags on Government of Canada buildings and establishments nationwide — including the Peace Tower in Ottawa — will be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on this day in remembrance of police and peace officers.

This day serves as a reminder of the courage, dedication and sacrifice of those who work to keep our communities safe.

Lowering the Flags

Flags may be lowered for National, Provincial or International incidents or deaths that have a direct connection to the College, and for national days of remembrance.
