Sharing Messages of Hope and Support

Working with members of the Olds community, the tipi in the Constructed Wetlands at Olds College is being filled with messages of encouragement and support for indigenous communities as unmarked graves continue to be found near residential school sites.

“We feel this is a sincere and practical way to show support to indigenous community members during this time of grief and healing,”  Olds community member. “One cannot help but slow down and reflect as the tipi offers a quiet spot surrounded by nature’s sights and sounds.“

Visitors are encouraged to share a message of support that will be shared with indigenous communities in our area this fall. Cards are provided at the tipi, or visitors can bring their own.
